Olá! I’m Luiz Silva, otherwise known as Mister Brazil, owner of the See You in Brazil travel business. Born in the bustling Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, I grew up between the great city of Rio and the charming seaside town of Buzios, both home to the some of the world’s top tourist destinations—it was destined that I work in the tourism industry.

How my path began…

What started off as a love for travel and people led my journey on a path through various sectors of the tourism industry for years. I worked as a tour guide in the hustle and bustle of the Brazilian shores helping customers get the most out of their Brazilian experience. At one point I began feeding my entrepreneurship spirit by using my family’s Lobster fishing boat—from where I spent the mornings fishing for a living—to transport tourists on private tours around the beaches and islands in Buzios in the evenings. After High School I expanded my customer service and hospitality skills by working in one of the finest boutique hotels in Buzios, the sophisticated Casas Brancas Boutique Hotel. During and after college, I worked for the City Hall, for seven years. I was promoted to the role of Superintendent of Administration and Mayor Assessor in Buzios where I refined my management and business skills.

Later, I moved to the United States in April of 2005. A year after, See You in Brazil was born. We are an American company that works closely with Brazilian companies to provide memorable and luxurious trips for our clients. Since I grew up in Brazil, I have a lot of connections whether private, governmental, and NGOs.

Since moving to the United States I began working closely with American soccer teams and with mission teams—guiding their travels and mission work around various countries, including South Africa, Lesotho, Canada, Ecuador, Peru, Honduras,Venezuela, El Salvador, the U.S., and of course all over Brazil—leading and guiding teams to all the 5 regions of this continental country. I serve as their travel guide and translator in Brazil.

In 2014 I married my beautiful wife who is originally from Atlanta, Georgia, a place we visit often to gather with family. Together we reside in the Famously Hot Southern city of Columbia, South Carolina.

Along with my wife, See You in Brazil has a fantastic travel agency team that insures our customers have the best service possible for their unique adventures. With team members from across the United States, Brazil, and other countries, our staff is very knowledgeable about travel and fun.

Share a passion for travel?

During my travels in Brazil, I say keep “Braziling” with me which is a term I coined to capture the feeling of traveling through my lens, so you too can experience my passion for Brazil and its people.

Every time I’m in Brazil producing videos, getting amazing photos, writing to give you knowledge for your travels to this country, I do it all with passion and a smile in my face.

I know that somewhere out there is someone like me that does the same thing. Someone passionate about their country who wants other people to also embrace the culture, to have fun, and to see people use their time in the best possible way to enjoy the Best that their country offers.

I believe that when we travel we realize our dreams. Even though most of often I only meet travelers by phone, email or through social media, the ability to help someone fulfill their dreams is so gratifying for me.

So please, have a look around and let me know what you think. All of the content here was created by me and then edited by friends and family to make sure my point comes across clearly—since English is not my first language.

Feel free to share your thoughts, ask questions, and invite your friends to travel to this beautiful country.

Thank you for reading my blog! I hope to See You in Brazil.
